2010

Wind Power Maintanance.

Jepirachi | Wind Power Generators

I developed local capacitor banks that supply reactive power to the national electrical grid. Conducted reactive power measurements and analyzed consumption curves to determine the appropriate capacitor bank stages.

I performed on-site measurements using power analyzers to ensure accurate data collection and optimize performance.

I saved millions of dollars by designing these systems locally, avoiding the lengthy process of shipping damaged capacitors for repair and waiting for replacements.

2018

Solar Street Lighting.

Viaducto de La Paz | Bridge with solar Lighting

The Viaducto de la Paz project had the primary objective of constructing a 7 km marine bridge to enhance the road network of northern Colombia. I was part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with civil and environmental engineers, as well as social workers, to ensure the bridge design harmonised with both the local ecosystem of the swamp and the community’s needs. This project was an infrastructural development and a testament to innovative, eco-friendly engineering.

In my capacity as the Electrical Project Director of the Viaducto de la Paz, I was responsible for the comprehensive planning and design of a solar power generation system that aligned with the project’s sustainability goals. This involved conducting rigorous assessments of energy needs and solar potential to determine optimal configurations. I led the selection of monocrystalline solar panels for their high efficiency and eco-friendliness, overseeing the integration of nickel cadmium batteries designed for longevity and minimal environmental impact. Through careful design and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, I ensured that the system not only met the project’s energy requirements but also complied with national safety and sustainability standards, thereby contributing to the project’s overall environmental objectives.

2022

Tunjuelito City Hall building.

The objective of this project was to construct a new building aimed at centralizing the administrative and cultural functions of the local government to improve the quality of life for the residents of the Tunjuelito community. This initiative sought to consolidate administrative services and the offices of democratic representatives, ensuring efficient workflow and accessibility. Enhancing the cultural landscape, the Ecofriendly building includes a new auditorium and green areas surrounding it, providing public spaces that foster community engagement and cultural activities.

I designed and developed lighting and energy systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and regulatory standards. In my role as an electrical engineer on the new Tunjuelito Town Hall construction project, I was responsible for planning and designing power generation equipment. This involved conceptualizing and designing the integration of a hybrid energy system that combined grid electricity with solar panel generation, ensuring an efficient and sustainable energy supply for the building’s operations. Additionally, I designed a diesel generator plant as an emergency backup, along with UPS systems to provide stable power during emergencies.

2023

Melbourne Lighting.

I took on the responsibility of providing technical support to management by researching, seeking out, and subsequently inspecting samples of new products that we planned to add to our portfolio. This process aimed to renew and optimize the lighting solutions we offered to our clients, prioritizing not only the safety of individuals but also a positive impact on the environment by incorporating more energy-efficient products. I focused on integrating advanced technologies such as LED lighting, solar panels, and automation systems, which enhanced the efficiency and functionality of our product portfolio.

In addition, I conducted comparative studies of existing products versus innovative designs, which culminated in actionable insights for product improvements. This proactive approach fostered a culture of continual improvement and adaptation within the company. By integrating cutting-edge technologies such as energy-efficient LEDs, smart sensors, and solar fixtures. In doing so, I contributed to our mission of providing high-quality, environmentally-friendly lighting options that enhance safety and comfort for our clients.
